Margot Robbie was born in Dalby, Australia, on July 2, 1990. Daughter of two separated parents, Margot has two brothers and a sister.
Around the age of fifteen she begins to get passionate about acting; in 2007, at the age of 17, she graduated from Somerset College on Gold Coast and then moved to Melbourne.
She made her debut in 2008 with the low-budget thriller "Vigilante", followed by "I.C.U." (2009), both directed by Aash Aaron.
From 2008 to 2011 she is in the cast of the famous soap opera "Neighbors", thanks to which she gets two nominations for the Logie Award, very important awards for Australian TV.
After moving to the United States, she takes part in the drama series “Pan Am” (2011-2012) with co-star Cristina Ricci; unfortunately the TV series has a short life and is canceled only after one year of broadcasting. Her work in "Pan Am" gives Margot Robbie a certain notoriety in the world of entertainment.
In 2013 she is directed by Richard Curtis in “Matters of Time” with Rachel McAdams, but it is with Martin Scorsese's “The Walf of Walla Street” (2013) that she gets the right attention as Leonardo DiCaprio's second wife.
In 2016 she is Jane Porter in David Yates' live-action adventure film "The Legend of Tarzan", opposite Alexander Skarsgård, in the role of Tarzan.
The pinnacle of her success reaches him thanks to her character Harley Quinn in the film set in the DC Cinematic Universe, "Suicide Squad" (2016).

Directed by Craig Gillespie while Robbie herself plays the role of the controversial protagonist, who thanks to this interpretation also receives her first nomination for Best Actress at the Oscars.
In 2018 she gets another major role in the historical film "Mary Queen of Scots" (2018), in which she plays Elizabeth I her and is she co-star with Saoirse Ronan.
She returns to act alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Quentin Tarantino's film "Once upon a time in ... Hollywood", the behind-the-scenes film about the world of cinema in the late 1960s. The same period in which the Manson family was stained with heinous murders, including that of actress Sharon Tate, played by Margot Robbie.
