Ivanka Trump snubbed Melania Trump in the Christmas photo: “Where is she?”
Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner were seen relaxing in Miami this week, spending time with their children at the beach. Since her father Donald Trump was ousted from the White House earlier this year, Ivanka and her family have kept a low profile. She was a central figure in her father’s administration, seen regularly by his side while he was president. It is not known whether they will be spending Christmas vacation with Ivanka’s family at Mar-a-Lago, owned by former President Trump in Palm Beach, Florida.
Ivanka seems close to her entire family, but a Christmas for the Trumps sparked speculation in a family feud after Ivanka posted a photo without Melania.
In December 2020, Ivanka took to Twitter and Instagram to share a photo of her family on Christmas morning.
Melania’s absence from the family photo comes after Ivanka was accused of attempting to impose herself on the duties of the then first lady and was nicknamed ‘Donald in costume’.
This prompted the Sun newspaper to ask in its headline, “Where’s Melania?” “
Ivanka converted to Judaism to marry Jared Kushner in 2009.
Jared’s family are Orthodox Jews, and the couple are raising their three children in the same faith and enrolling them all in a Jewish school in Miami.
Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights, took place from November 28 to December 6 of this year, but sometimes takes place at the same time as Christmas.
Each Hanukkah night, an additional candle is lit by the shamash until all eight candles are lit together on the last night of the festival.
Other traditions include playing dreidel and consuming oil-based foods and dairy products.
Christmas coincided with Chanukah in 2016 – at the time, Ivanka said, “This is one of the rare and special occasions when Chanukah and Christmas coincide.
“As we light the candles, send the love of our family to yours this holiday season! Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! #Happy Holidays.”
Ivanka and Jared’s relationship initially caused anguish within the Kushner family, with some fearing the investor would marry outside of his faith.
In the 2019 book ‘Kushner Inc’, author Vicky Ward wrote: “Seryl and Charlie were appalled that their son was getting married outside of the faith.
“The idea was particularly offensive to Seryl, who had raised the children.
“They were her world, and her world was the conservative Jewish culture in which she had grown up. “
This issue even caused the couple to break up briefly in 2008, but then they got back together and Ivanka converted to Judaism.
Ivanka’s dad has been making headlines in recent days after his supporters booed him for admitting he took the COVID-19 booster vaccine.
Mr Trump told a crowd of mostly unmasked supporters: ‘Look, we did something historic, we saved tens of millions of lives around the world when we, together, we all made a vaccine.
“It was going to devastate the country far beyond what it is now, take the credit for it … It’s great, what we did is historic. Don’t let them win out.
“If you don’t want to take it you shouldn’t have to take it, no money orders but take the credit… Don’t let them take that away from you.”
Bill O’Reilly, who was touring the country with Mr Trump, then said “the president and I are vaxxed”, before later turning to the former businessman for confirmation.
The former Fox News anchor then asked, “Did you get the recall?”
Mr. Trump replied: “Yes”.
Mr O’Reilly, who left Fox in 2017 following deals with women who accused him of sexual misconduct, also claimed Mr Trump would run for president in 2024.
He added: “I’m trying to say [former] President Trump, run on your file. He’s gonna run again, okay.
“I said, ‘Run on your record because your record is damn good. “”
