Kat Dennings points out hypocrisy from fans who defended Chris Evans for his intimate photos
The actress from Thor and Thor: A Dark World pointed to the double standard of our society, reflected in the reaction of fans to the leak of intimate photographs of an actor
There is no doubt that we live in a society with double standards, where women are frowned upon for exploring their sexuality but a man is applauded for being very macho. In recent years these harmful ideas have started to be questioned and for the first time it seems that we are seeing a change in mentalities, it is a complex and slow process. However, true change cannot be achieved overnight and we continue to see hypocrisy everywhere, the most recent case being noted by Kat Dennings (Virgin at 40 - 85%, Defender - 68%, Suburban Gothic - 60%) and has to do with Chris Evans' intimate photography that reached social networks.
Unlike the leaks of intimate photos of famous actresses, which were released without mercy or consideration, those of Chris Evans elicited very respectful reactions on social networks and the support of his followers was evident. The actor, known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, had much luckier than his colleagues who have also worked on the franchise and who saw his packages leaked on the Internet.
Dennings, who starred in Thor-77% and Thor: A Dark World-66% in the role of Darcy Lewis, drew attention to it on her Twitter, where she highlighted the double standard that exists in society. We must remember that Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Tokyo - 95%, The Provocation - 76%, The Avengers - 92%) in charge of giving life to Black Widow, and Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad - 100%, Big Eyes - 72%, The Hero - 77%), protagonist of Jessica Jones - 69%, also had their photos leaked years ago. These were the words of the actress:
The public respect for Chris Evans’ privacy/feelings is wonderful. Wouldn’t it be nice if it extended to women when this kind of thing happens?

Dennings's message is certainly important and must be heard. We must also point out that the "leak" of a photograph of Evans was an accident that happened to the actor, while the women who were victims of Celebgate had no chance, a large number of intimate images were suddenly available to all Internet perverts.
Dennings rose to fame for her role on the comedy series 2 Broke Girls, and was later integrated into the first two installments of Thor. We will see her soon in WandaVision-95%, on Disney Plus, and it is still not clear if he will return to the saga of the God of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder. In an interview with People a couple of months ago she commented on this: "I don't know, I really don't know."
Shortly after the Evans scandal, the actor fell silent and only posted on Twitter asking his followers to vote in the upcoming election. In an interview on The Tamron Hall Show (via Entertainment Weekly) he said that he learned a lesson and thanked his fans for their support:
Look, it was a very interesting weekend, full of lessons learned. You know, things happen. It's embarrassing, but you have to take the blows. I will say that I have some fantastic fans who really supported me. That was very, very nice.
We also hope the lesson goes to everyone and Dennings's words are not forgotten. The same respectful and considerate attitude should be for women.
