At the MTV Video Music Awards, Perry has received several nominations, including first at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards in the categories. for Best Female Video, Best Art Direction, Best Editing and Best Cinematography for "I Kissed a Girl" and Best New Artist.5 At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards she was nominated in the category of Best Female Video for her second hit "Hot N Cold ».
