Meghan Markle’s fans are outraged at reports that she hired a photographer to photograph her while shopping for Christmas gifts in Montecito, California on Wednesday.
Following accusations that she staged paparazzi photos, Meghan Markle has rushed to her defense.
Following reports that the Duchess of Sussex was spotted Christmas shopping in California, new photos of her have emerged.
The photos, which were taken in Montecito on Wednesday, show the mother-of-two wearing a beanie hat, sunglasses, and a blue face mask as part of a low-key disguise.
Meghan allegedly used the opportunity to stage a photoshoot in the style of a C-list celebrity, but others on social media were not having it.
“The entire world is shopping online,” one person wrote, “but (hashtag)MeghanMarkle decided to hit the shops in her Sunday best, and paparazzi knew the exact time and location of her solo, undercover excursion.”
“(hashtag)gofigure” is a popular hashtag.

“Because Santa Barbara is such a small town, paparazzi aren’t just waiting for her to come out (hashtag)Desperate.”
‘The Body Language Guy,’ whose real name is Jess Enrique Rosas, reacted to the photos with an eight-minute Youtube video that garnered nearly 100,000 views in just a few hours.
“They want to appear spontaneous,” he said, “but something about them is just off.”
“These have to be the cleanest and sharpest paparazzi photos ever taken, especially given that it happened at a time of day when the sun was shining in exactly the right way to light whoever came out of the shop.”
“How did the photographer know this was her?” he continued.
However, according to the Express, not everyone online has been so dismissive of the images.
@SneezeCocoa, a Twitter user, was quick to defend the Duchess against the accusations.
“While being papped from time to time is expected, it’s the illegal and intrusive actions of the media and paparazzi that I have an issue with,” they wrote.
“Give her some space…just a girl shopping for her family at home,” a Meghan fan wrote on Facebook.
“Let her live in peace, all the haters, please let her and her family be,” another wrote.
