Melania Trump wiped out Jackie Kennedy's garden at the White House

The first lady of the United States completely renovated the Rose Garden, destroying the iconic green space designed by 'Jackie'.

The always attractive, distant and enigmatic Melania Trump has made headlines these days for presenting the new Rose Garden of the White House, a transformation that the first lady saw necessary because her husband moved his press conferences to that outer space due to the coronavirus.

This garden had not been restored in almost 60 years, with Jacqueline Kennedy being in charge of its latest design. And, of course, when it comes to the iconic style and glamor of the unforgettable 'Jackie', comparisons are inevitable and relaxation sets in.

Melania Trump wiped out Jackie Kennedy's garden at the White House

The current first lady of the United States presented this morning the new face of the garden on the occasion of a meeting with the Republican convention. The renovations included "electrical upgrades for television appearances, another walkway, and new flowers and shrubs to meet the dynamic needs of the modern presidency," Melania told a news outlet.

The original garden was commissioned by President John F. Kennedy at 1961, and was designed by gardener Rachel Lambert Mellon and Jacqueline Kennedy. It consisted of assorted roses and large trees, highlighted by the wild apple trees and the entire grassy garden. Melania chose to impose white and softer colors, removed the apple trees and included stone paths in what was once a lawn.
