Pretty Woman: a musical for 2018
Almost 30 years after its release, Pretty Woman, the film that revealed Julia Roberts, will be adapted for Broadway.
The magic continues on stage. Like Ghost or Dirty Dancing before her, Pretty Woman, a cult romance released in 1990, becomes a musical. At the origin of the show, which is set to debut in fall 2018 in New York? A libretto by Garry Marshall, the late director of the film that made Julia Roberts a star. The songs will be signed Bryan Adams (the "Everything I Do" from Robin Hood's soundtrack with Kevin Costner, that was him).
Steve Kazee (Tony Award winner for Once) will have the heavy burden of making Richard Gere forget. He's the one who will reprise the role of Edward Lewis, a businessman who falls in love with Vivian, whom he met on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. Samantha Barks, spotted in the film adaptation of Les Miserables, will be Vivian, the young prostitute played by Julia Roberts in the original film.
