REASONS WHY WE LOVE KEANU REEVES

A wonderful being of light.

Keanu Reeves is a person who needs no introduction at this point in life, but from time to time we must remember that he is still there, ready to make our existence a little fuller, a little happier. And we want to thank you by giving you reasons why you should also love Keanu (although if we do, we can get many more, be warned).

Born 54 years ago in Beirut, Keanu Charles Reeves (pronounced Keianu) began to make a name for himself with the movie 'Champion's Forge', back in the 1980s, alongside Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze, two generation of contemporaries, which included Christian Slater, Ethan Hawke or the late River Phoenix, with whom Keanu became close friends during the filming of 'My Private Idaho'.

With mythical films like 'Speed' or 'They call him Bodhi', his great opportunity came thanks to a film that would revolutionize cinema: 'The Matrix'. And the funny thing is, he came to that story after Will Smith rejected 'The Matrix' for not understanding the script.

Keanu was already famous, he was already doing the work he liked, and he didn't want any more fame or more money (he had enough). In fact, he donated much of the salary earned from the 'Matrix' sequels to the special effects and makeup crew. But Keanu has not had an easy life far from it: his father abused him and abandoned him when he was just a child.

His mother had to work as a stripper to support the family. When he was already a promising young actor in Hollywood, his best friend died of an overdose (yes, River Phoenix) and, in the late 90s, his daughter was born still after the 8th month of pregnancy, which caused him to break up with his partner. who also died a few months later in a traffic accident. Despite everything, Keanu Reeves is experiencing a second youth thanks to the action saga 'John Wick', and the actor continues to look on the bright side of life.

"None of us are going to make it out of here alive, so stop continually looking to the future. Eat delicious food. Take a walk at sunrise. Jump into the ocean. Speak the truths that you lock in your heart like a hidden treasure. Be silly. Be nice. Be weird. There's no time for anything else. "
