Anya Taylor-Joy was born on April 16, 1996 in Miami. Coming from an Anglo-Hispanic family, she lived for a time in the USA then in Argentina and London, allowing her to be perfectly bilingual.
Trained in ballet and dance, she nevertheless turned to an acting career and started with a small role in Vampire Academy in 2014. If her participation was not credited, she stood out the following year by becoming the heroine of the horror film The Witch. Screened at the Sundance Film Festival, this film was a huge critical success.
