Simon Cowel faced an embarrassing ribbing from by X Factor fans tonight after eagle-eyed viewers spotted what appeared to be a shocking wardrobe malfunction.
The music mogul sat barefoot on a sofa with Spice Girls Mel B and Emma Bunton to watch his contestants sing.
However, fans were more interested in something suspicious which appeared to be poking out of his jeans.
One viewer posted a screengrab of the shocking moment on his Twitter page, and made a joke at Simon's expense.
The viewer wrote: "Has @SimonCowell had a wardrobe malfunction or is he enjoying these auditions a bit too much ? #XFactor ".
Another added an aubergine emoticon and wrote: "So.... #SimonCowell has had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction
One even suggested the contestants should have warned Simon about the problem, tweeting: "When he asked her to take the make up off, why didn't she tell Simon about his wardrobe malfunction? #XFactor ."
Another joked: "As wardrobe malfunctions go this is pretty epic.. @SimonCowell #XFactorUK #peekapoo #XFactor..."
A number of fans took to Twitter to joke the hilarious moment, but several took a more rational approach and insisted it was just his toe as the music mogul was sitting barefoot.
One wrote: "Omg it's his toe... dirty minded people... @TheXFactor @SimonCowell," another added: "Nope! It's big too [sic]... he can't be that careless on national telly!"
One viewer even tweeted the show's official account asking for clarification, writing: "@TheXFactor Please say it's his toe."
Viewers were fuming over the reappearance of previously-booted contestant Honey G, and many even threatened to boycott the series over Sharon Osbourne's decision to reinstate her.
Louis Walsh also came under fire over his decision to keep quirky act Ottavio and Bradley and drop popular girl group 4 of Diamonds.
