Jennifer Lawrence, humiliated in her beginnings as an actress
The interpreter recounted her terrible experience in Hollywood on the occasion of the Weinstein case.
The Weinstein case is raising the sewers of Hollywood. Every day new accusations against the producer and against some of the performances of the American film industry are uncovered and more actresses are added to the list of women who decide to speak about scandalous behaviors. The last one has been Jennifer Lawrence, who openly recounted her humiliating beginnings in the cinema.
During the annual Women in Hollywood gala held last Monday in Los Angeles, the Oscar-winning actress decided to take the floor to recount an episode that she had to star in when she was barely 18 years old. Lawrence, who at the time condemned the acts of Harvey Wenstein - with whom she had worked - explained that the producers of the film in which she was going to participate asked her to lose seven kilos in two weeks.
"At the time, a producer had me say a few lines naked in a row with five women who were much, much thinner than me," Lawrence explained, assuring that she and the other participants were completely naked except for one duct tape covering her private parts. "After that humiliating and degrading moment, the producer told me that I should use those nude photos to inspire me in my diet," said the American.
In her speech, Lawrence assured that another producer told her that "she didn't know why everyone thought she was fat" since he considered her "perfectly fuckable", words that served the actress to question the abuses that are discussed before women in Hollywood.
The 27-year-old actress, who has always been shown as one of the most critical voices in the American industry, ended by assuring that she would continue fighting until they stop normalizing "these terrible situations."
