Trump denounces Biden's 'political theater' to make people forget his 'failures'
Donald Trump did not appreciate that Joe Biden held him responsible for the invasion of the Capitol in January 2021.
Donald Trump on Thursday called Joe Biden's speech, who blamed his predecessor for the assault on Congress on January 6, 2021, as a "political theater" intended to make people forget the "failures" of the Democratic president.
Joe Biden "used my name in an attempt to further divide America," Donald Trump said in a statement. "This political theater only distracts attention from the fact that Biden has completely and utterly failed."
"Democrats want to use this January 6 day to instill fear and divide America," he added.
Donald Trump also reiterated that the 2020 presidential election was "rigged", accusing Democrats of wanting to "cancel" any discussion on the subject.
He repeats his accusations of electoral fraud
A few hours after his first press release, the former Republican president issued a second in which he expressed all his anger at Joe Biden's speech.
"Seeing Biden speak is very hurtful to a lot of people. They are the ones who tried to prevent a peaceful transfer with a rigged election," said Donald Trump.
"Never forget the crime of the 2020 presidential election. Never give up," concludes the Republican billionaire.
In a speech of rare gravity to mark the first anniversary of the attack on the Capitol, Joe Biden accused Donald Trump, without ever naming him, of having "created and spread a web of lies" by claiming that the victory of the Democrat in November 2020 was tainted with fraud, which has never been proven.
Joe Biden accused his predecessor of "trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power" during the "armed insurgency" of January 6, 2021, when hundreds of Republican supporters violently stormed Congress to prevent the elected officials to certify the victory of the democrat.
