They put an end to their quarrels. After three years of being at odds, the singers Taylor Swift and Katy Perry decided to put aside their rivalries and signed peace.
This was made clear to their followers, after both gave each other a hug on Swift's new single, "You Need To Calm Down". In it, the interpreter of Shake it off came out disguised as fries, while Perry did it as a hamburger.

Friendship between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry
They became friends in 2009 when their musical careers began to reap success. Both shared photos and videos on their social networks highlighting what the other was doing, but three years later, everything changed.
Start the rivalry
It was during the tour of Taylor Swift, who was promoting her album "Red", that the friendship was broken, after three of her dancers, who had previously been part of the cast of Katy Perry, decided to terminate their services with her in full music tour.
Being alone on tour was not what sparked her anger, but the fact that the dancers went to work with Perry was what really angered her, because she considered that her friend was sabotaging her.
In her defense, Katy said that she contacted her former dancers to ask if they could return to work with her on her new album "Prism", to which they accepted, but asked them to notify the organization in advance due to issues of contract. Something that happened, but was rejected by Taylor's team, who decided to fire them. With this she made it clear that she "never stole them."
After what happened, the only one who spoke was one of the dancers, who said that they chose to return to work with Perry because they consider her as part of their family, and although she appreciated the opportunity that Swift gave them, she stated that on said tour she “was They were getting a bit bored."
The war started
In 2013, after Katy Perry was accused of plagiarism with her song "Roar", Taylor Swift fought back and shared the stage with Sara Bareilles, the singer allegedly plagiarized by her ex-friend. Both sang "Brave", the original song.
The following year, in September 2014, Swift spoke for the first time about what happened with the dancers and commented on the song "Bad blood", in which she talked about another female artist. “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not […]. The day after the interview came out, Katy shared a tweet with a withering message. "Beware of Regina George in sheep's clothing," referring to the villain from the movie "Mean Girls."
Also, in 2015, during the Super Bowl halftime, Perry performed her best hits and when she sang "California Girls", a song that makes fun of superficial women, she took the opportunity to attack her ex-friend. She couldn't think of a better idea than to dress those types of girls in the classic swimsuit that Taylor made fashionable that summer.
A man also fueled the grudge
The year was 2012 when Katy Perry started dating John Mayer, Taylor's ex-boyfriend. After her breakup, the latter dedicated a song called 'Dear John' to her with lyrics full of rancor. And so the hints came and went on both sides.
Reconciliation begins
After visiting the Vatican, Katy Perry decides to take the first step towards reconciliation and sends a handwritten letter and an olive branch to Taylor Swift. After reading the letter, Taylor wrote on her Instagram account. “I have returned to my dressing room and I have found this olive branch. This means a lot to me".
A week ago, Katy Perry shared an image on Instagram announcing the end of the feud with Taylor Swift. In the photo, homemade cookies were seen on a plate with the description: "Peace at last" ("Peace at last"). In addition, Perry accompanied the image with the phrases "Let's be friends" ("Let's be friends") and "Feels good" ("It feels good"). But what stood out the most was that she tagged Taylor in the photo. The interpreter of "Shake it off" responded with a chain of hearts.
Days later, Taylor Swift surprised everyone by publishing the video for "You Need To Calm Down" and Katy Perry appeared dressed as a hamburger and she, as the perfect complement, disguised as French fries. This heralded the end of the long rivalry.
Swift tells about reconciliation
“We had been in a truce for quite some time, but the first time we saw each other in person was not long ago at a party and from minute one it was clear to both of us that everything had changed […]. We realized that we had both matured and that we had done it despite being angry with each other. So suddenly we remembered how much we had in common and we started to fix the situation. The thing is, neither of us were prepared to talk about it publicly,” she told BBC Radio.
“A little while later, when I was brainstorming ideas for the music video, it occurred to me that it would be great if Katy showed up, but I didn't know if she'd be interested or if she'd prefer us to remain secret friends. That's why I sent her a very long synopsis telling her the idea that she wanted to tell in the video and she responded right away telling me that she would love for us to become a symbol of what redemption and forgiveness means, ”she continued.
Swift pointed out that although she had everything ready, the most important thing was missing: finding the best way to stage it. The solution came when she saw Perry dressed as a hamburger at the Met Gala. “Until that moment it hadn't occurred to me that she could be dressed like this and I could be dressed as a serving of fries.
