Donald Trump's 5 Favorite Cars
This morning we woke up to the news that Donald Trump had been elected President of the United States. The Republican candidate won the elections against all odds against Hillary Clinton. In Actualidad Motor we are not going to analyze the new leader from the political point of view, but from the automobile point of view. Here are five cars that can be found in Trump's garage.
Although really five copies are a fairly small sample of the vehicles he has in his possession. Before running for office, Trump has been a successful businessman and owns several hotels and casinos, among other businesses. Over the years he has been dedicating part of his fortune to the acquisition of vehicles of all kinds and currently has a curious collection. Here we leave you some of the most striking.
Rolls Royce Phantom
There is always a Rolls-Royce Phantom in every tycoon's garage. This model is synonymous with luxury and power, thanks to its 6.75-liter V12 engine. It is said that Trump already had a first-generation Phantom and that he did not hesitate to buy this second to keep up. This high-end saloon costs around 500,000 euros, although if he has chosen any of the many customization options for him, the final bill is sure to be higher.
Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster
From a luxury sedan we went on to a radical sports car. This electric blue Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster was purchased by Donald Trump in 1997. This sports car came to replace the Countach and comes with a 6.0-liter V12 engine and almost 500 hp. It also has all-wheel drive and exceeds 300 km/h. It will undoubtedly be one of the most striking specimens in his garage, he even came to pose with it as we see in the previous photo.
Mercedes SLR McLaren
The Mercedes SLR McLaren is not far behind, another sports car although more current. Trump has been seen with this 'silver bullet' through the streets of his native New York. This model made with the collaboration of the Formula 1 team and has a 5.4-liter V8 engine under the hood. Thanks to its 626 hp, it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and from 0 to 300 km/h in 30.6 seconds. Its price is about 400,000 euros.
Chevrolet Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car
In 2011 Donald Trump was chosen to drive the pace car at the Indianapolis 500. This decision created some controversy, since the public thought that this task corresponded to a professional pilot. In the end, Trump did not carry out this task, but he did receive the car chosen for the occasion: an exclusive Chevrolet Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. Only 500 units of this special edition with a 6.4-liter V8 engine were made.
Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud
The last one on that list is a classic that has little to do with the previous ones. It is a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud from 1956 and they say it was the first car that Donald Trump had. A car ahead of its time that already had a series of unusual extras such as power steering or air conditioning. It measures 5.38 meters long and is equipped with a 4.9-liter inline six-cylinder engine.
In Donald Trump's garage there are many more vehicles that we have not included in this list. It has an Acura NSX, a Cadillax XLR, a Bentley Continental GT or a Cadillac Escalade among others. From now on he will have to leave all these vehicles parked, since he will have to use the presidential car in official acts. Currently it is the Cadillac One, also known as 'The Beast', a spectacular armored limousine.
