Emilia Clarke Game of Thrones star admits narrow escape after near wardrobe malfunction
Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, revealed she had a near miss at the Emmys 2018 last week when she confessed she almost suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction.
The 31-year-old actress looked sensational at the star-studded annual bash as she was joined by fellow Game of Thrones favourites.
Slipping into an eye-catching black gown which fell to the floor in an elegant A-line style, she showcased her svelte figure in the skintight bodice.
Appearing to go braless under the semi-sheer number, which featured a nude slip underneath to preserve her modesty, she turned heads on the red carpet as she put on a sophisticated display.
The sleeveless frock boasted a flared skirt which embroidered with floral detailing and a high neckline.
Emilia wore her blonde locks tied up in a sleek bun and accessorised with green statement earrings.
She highlighted her natural beauty with a dewy make-up look for a natural effect, including lashings of mascara and a slick of nude pink lipstick.
Prior to the Emmy Awards ceremony, the Game of Thrones star dazzled fans with sneak previews of her outfit on Instagram, but following the event she made a hilarious admission.
Once again taking to the photo-sharing platform to upload a stunning snap for her 18 million followers, Emilia shared a shot of herself posing with Nathalie Emmanuel, 29.
The pair could be seen beaming as they sat next to each other at an afterparty hosted by HBO.
“Safe to say these smiles are from eating the entire buffet at the @hbo party,” she continued. “SO MANY HOURS OF GETTING READY AND AFTER THIS I ALMOST POPPED OUT OF MY DRESS.”
Emilia also added there hashtags: “#itsincrediblewedonthavefoodinourteeth #targaryensforlyfe.”(sic)

Game of Thrones was nominated for a staggering 22 Emmys at the ceremony.
The fantasy drama series ended up scooping the awards for best drama series, supporting actor in a drama series (for Peter Dinklage) and seven others.
Meanwhile, Daenerys favourite Emilia’s unexpected connection to Countdown bombshell Rachel Riley, 32, was recently revealed when the presenter spoke out on the Channel 4 gameshow.
The mathematician divulged her dream of Emilia playing her in a movie of her life, telling host Nick Hewer, 74, she has “a list” of people she’s choose.
“Jennifer Lawrence, quite happy with that. Emilia Clarke, Emma Stone, Margot Robbie and I really like Natalie Portman as well.
“She went to Harvard and she published two scientific papers. Nice Jewish girl.
“Any of those will do if it ever happens!” she added.
