The 42-year-old looked to be in a bright mood as she showed off her slim figure and long legs in an elegant black dress as she posed on the red carpet...before the embarrassing mishap.
Standing tall in high heels, Jennifer pinned her brunette locks back into a ponytail as she wore a bright slick of lip paint.
Also in attendance were co-stars Steve Carell, Bella Thorne, Kerris Dorsey, Ed Oxenbould (who plays Alexander in the film), and Dylan Minnette.
In the film, the actress plays the mother of Alexander, whose day begins with gum stuck in his hair, only to be followed by even more devastating calamities.
Although, it's not just Alexander who has a 'terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day' in Disney's big-screen adaptation of the 1972 Judith Viorst novel.
The entire Cooper family deals with disasters, including Garner - who as the matriarch - accidentally walks in on her teenage Anthony (Dylan Minnette) naked.
Alexander's famously bad day begins with a pratfall and then a classmate reveals that hilariously photoshopped images of him have gone viral throughout the school.
The kids' flick was helmed by Miguel Arteta (Cedar Rapids, Youth in Revolt) and penned by Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right).
The day after his bad day, Alexander's family each encounter their own problems including a live alligator suddenly appearing in their home.
Not content with just one animal hijink, the big-budget flick also randomly features a menacing kangaroo.
There are a lot of inadvertent fires, including Carell's patriarch character getting his pirate shirt torched at a teppanyaki restaurant.
Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day also features Megan Mullally and Bella Thorne as Anthony's girlfriend.
The film hits theatres in the US on October 10.
