Are Kaley Cuoco's leaked photos overrated?
On August 31, 2014, Kaley Cuoco was one of the celebrities whose private pictures were leaked online.
In the event, now called “The Fappening”, more than 500 private pictures and videos of many people in the entertainment industry were released for all to see.
After they went viral many of the victims decided to take legal action and to show their disgust at whoever had seen, watched, or shared the pictures and videos.
Kaley Cuoco on the other hand tried to stay calm and tried to make light of this horrible situation she was going through.
After this happened she went on the Jimmy Kimmel show and stated:
I was one of the people who got hacked. It was disturbing!
Okay, I'm not going to lie — I totally have Google alerts that come to my phone, so anything that pops up with my name comes to my phone because I'm like obsessed, I need to know what's going on.
So every day there are like 30 'Kaley Cuoco N*de Photos,' it's been going on for years but it's all these fake ones. So then this one came up and I was like, 'Oh, it's another fake one.'
And then I started getting emails about real ones going around and I looked at it and I was like, 'Oh my god, there are some real ones.’
So I sent an email out to my family.
I said, 'Just so you know, this happened, blah, blah, blah. P.S. I'm not pregnant, I'm not getting a divorce — I was able to get everything out in the email.
But it was just a really bad situation but I took it into my own hands and made a joke about it because you know what are you going to do?
So I took a picture with my favorite app, it's called Nudify, I don’t know if any of you have this app, but it's hilarious . . . you can blur things out.
So I was shooting a scene for 'Big Bang Theory’ and I was with all the guys, and it was the day after this whole n*de leak happened.
So we’re sitting there in between takes and they're helping me pick out a picture and what I should nudify so I could, like, get them [the hackers] back. So I have Kunal like ‘yeah, yeah, nudify that part’.
It was a team effort. All the guys helped with this one, it was really great.
You know . . . you’ve got to make fun of yourself.
This funny response to the hacks is why the fans love and support her, and hopefully, it helped her feel better about it, even if just a little bit.
