Gwen Stefani hints at scandal behind heartbreaking split from Gavin Rossdale
The No Doubt singer admitted the reason her marriage ended is a "good, juicy story"
Gwen Stefani has admitted the reason her marriage ended is a "good, juicy story" as she opened up about the heartbreaking split.
The No Doubt singer's 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale broke down last year amid reports of infidelity.
But Gwen has insisted she will remain tight-lipped about the reasons behind the split for the sake of their sons Kingston, nine, Zuma, seven, and Apollo, two.
Gwen, 46, said: "If I could, I would just tell you everything, and you would just be in shock. It's a really good, juicy story."
Reports at the time of their split alleged Gavin was having a relationship with their nanny, Mindy Mann - but neither of them ever confirmed the rumours.
In an interview with the New York Times, Gwen has admitted she felt "dead" when her marriage ended and had no idea how to "save" herself.
Recalling her emotional state at the time, she said: "I'm gonna die. I am dead, actually. How do I save myself? What am I going to do? How do I not go down like this?"
Gwen returned to songwriting and admitted being in the recording studio was a huge help.
Gwen and Gavin's split shocked the showbiz world
She said: "[I thought], 'I have to make music out of this. That's what God wants for me'.
"Being in that room and being creative, it was the only place that felt good -- I was like, I love the smell of this room."
The Hollaback Girl singer said she was frustrated that the breakdown of her marriage means she now only has her sons 50 per cent of the time.
She said: "It's like, the most unjust, unbelievable system."
However, she admits that has given her the "blessing" of space and time to heal and work on her music.
And these days, Gwen - who is now dating fellow 'The Voice' coach Blake Shelton - is having an "awesome" time, though she is still coming to terms with the end of her marriage.
She said: "I'm not going to say I'm not still picking up the pieces and every day isn't a challenge. I'm still in shock. But it's an awesome time."
