In the unknown photos of her, taken in 1962, a few months before her death at age 36, the actress can be seen without clothes in a swimming pool, at night. The images of her, 12 in all, were taken by Time magazine photographer Lawrence Schiller, who also photographed her in a robe and partying with her birthday cake.
In addition, there is another capture that is supposed to be the last photo before her death in Los Angeles on August 5, 1962. The emblematic actress, considered a pop icon and one of the sexual symbols of the 20th century, died of an overdose of barbiturates.
The photos will go on sale Oct. 11 at New York's Heritage Auctions, which is estimated to fetch between $25,000 and $35,000.
