Miley Cyrus's plane makes an emergency landing in Paraguay due to the impact of lightning
The singer suspends her presentation in Asunción due to bad weather and heads to Brazil
A powerful electrical storm ruined the plans of Miley Cyrus in Paraguay. The plane that was taking her from Santiago to Asunción was struck by lightning and she had to make an emergency landing in Ciudad del Este, 320 kilometers from her destination. The singer, who had just participated in Lollapalooza in Argentina and Chile, recounted the incident on her social networks.
“To my fans and everyone who was worried about me after hearing about my flight to Asuncion. Our plane got caught in an unexpected big storm and got hit by lightning,” Cyrus wrote. "My team, band, friends and family who were traveling with me are doing well after the crash landing."
Miley Cirus first uploaded a video with the flashes of the storm behind the plane's windows. Once on the ground, she showed the detail of the lightning strike on one of the aircraft's wings. "Unfortunately we could not fly to Paraguay," added the singer in a thread of tweets. Cyrus was one of the stars invited to the Asunción festival 2022, which on Tuesday night had to cancel its first day due to bad weather. Rodrigo Nogues, director of the firm G5Pro, organizer of the concert, told local ABC radio that he had had "an inconvenience with his plane" as a result of bad weather and that he was already in São Paulo, Brazil.

The singer later posted a new video where she dedicates a song to her fans from Paraguay, as she relaxes with a bubble bath from her air adventure “I think I'm super exhausted from stress! I have a few days to recover before BRAZIL!” she wrote in the same tweet.
I wish I could’ve STAYed & performed for all of my fans in Paraguay. Please STAY safe. I love you . 🖤 (also if you can’t tell I’m a little sick, I think just super exhausted from the stress of yesterday! Got a few days to recover before BRAZIL!) https://t.co/gtXHC7AJgh pic.twitter.com/C7IlPp7f7t

Bad weather also forced the cancellation of the Asunciónico 2022 event this Wednesday. In addition to Cyrus, the organizers had invited Nicki Nicole from Argentina, Jhay Cortez from Puerto Rico and the Uruguayan band La Vela Puerca.
