The King of Thailand, escorted by staff crawling around him
The controversial images of Maha Vajiralongkorn were released by a journalist specializing in the royal family of that country.
Thailand is one of the most lavish and questioned monarchies in the entire world. Over the weekend, the royal family was on everyone's lips after a journalist specialized in the subject spread scandalous images in which the king, Maha Vajiralongkorn, is seen escorted by personnel that crawl around him.
Andrew MacGregor Marshall published photos on social networks where the sovereign of the Asian country is seen sitting in a subway car surrounded by a royal entourage that bends down to sit on the floor.
"Why does Thailand's monarchy still think it's a good idea in 2020 for King Vajiralongkorn to be surrounded by crawling servants?" the Scottish journalist wrote on Twitter.
These scandalous images are added to the complaint made by the same journalist a few days ago. MacGregor Marshall had leaked photos of Srirasmi Suwadee, the third wife of the King of Thailand, whom he divorced in 2014 and who remains exiled in a village under house arrest, shaved, and separated from her son.
In the other image published by the Scottish journalist, Vajiralongkorn (the richest monarch in the world with a fortune estimated at 30,000 million dollars) can be seen going down an escalator to the subway station. Behind him are several people crouched. "The king's slaves even had to crawl up the escalators," MacGregor Marshall wrote.
The censorship mechanisms used by the Thai crown mean that little or no information is known about the Asian country.
"I can't go back to Thailand. I would be jailed if I go back as I repeatedly broke Thai law by writing about the monarchy," MacGregor Marshall told Australia's 60 Minutes.
