Why is Donald Trump a fast food addict?

The question was posed by a CNN reporter. And here is Donald Trump's response:

“I am a clean person.

I like cleanliness.

And I think it's better to eat at fast food than somewhere else where you don't know the origin of the ingredients.

At McDonald's, they have a certain standard..."

“The thing to understand with big franchises is that one bad burger can destroy their reputation. »

“The other night, I ate at Kentucky Fried Chicken… frankly, it’s not the worst.

Why is Donald Trump a fast food addict?

Trump likes to enjoy a Big Mac aboard his Boeing 757 "Trump Force One". America in all its glory!

It seems crazy to eat at McDonald's when you have as much money as Trump...

But what I can imagine is that a Trump is less likely to be poisoned by eating at an anonymous fast food restaurant.

And then researchers compared the bacteria in different restaurants – expensive or cheap.

Surprisingly, high-end restaurants are the least “clean”. They accumulate as much bacteria in kitchens as they do in toilets. In particular, the Bacillus cereus strain, known to cause diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

By comparison, researchers found fewer bacteria in fast food kitchens. This is linked to the fact that fast food restaurants use disposable tableware... while the big restaurants do the "dishwashing" in the kitchen.

This is all the more important in sushi restaurants where everything depends on freshness and cleanliness.

Trump is therefore not entirely wrong to insist on praising the cleanliness of the big fast food chains.

This story reminded me that we all find ourselves pushing the door of a McDonald's from time to time, whether we like it or not...

… And that it would be interesting to establish a small guide explaining how to get out of it at best.

How to Get Out of a McDonald's Alive

I know you try to eat healthy (as much as possible).

But let's be honest – eating fast food is sometimes unavoidable.

It could be while traveling...along a highway...or because you can't find anything else open at that time.

And deep down, I don't consider eating at a fast food chain to be necessarily a health disaster.

So here are five tips to make the best choice for your health:

Tip N°1: Avoid “MAXI” – but also “MINI” formulas!

Usually, you will be offered to turn your menu into a “maxi” for a small supplement. It's a trap. “Big fries”, “big drinks” are a false economy.

The normal menu is calorie enough. What you eat in addition will only be gluttony.

Similarly, you will also be tempted by the economical menus (such as “low prices”, “low prices”).

You should know that to lower their prices in this way, the chains save on the raw material. They therefore use more preservatives. And to give flavor despite everything, they add sugar. Again, you are making a false economy...

Tip N°2: Do half and half

Start by taking a menu for two. Then wait to see if you're still hungry to order more.

This is a rule that I advise you to apply to all restaurants.

You have to understand that restaurants are designed to sell you starter, main course, cheese and then dessert menus. That is, amounts higher than your energy needs.

When I cook for myself, I never plan starters. And I consider dessert optional.

Yet, since childhood, we have been programmed to order at least two or three dishes when eating out.

And deep down, you feel guilty about ordering only one dish... or worse, sharing a dish... the impression of doing a dirty trick to the restaurant owner.

Finally, the advantage of a fast food is that you do not feel obliged to order a minimum quantity.

Tip #3: Know Your Enemy

Fast food is associated with fat. But in reality, it is sugar that should be avoided as much as possible.

I am thinking above all of sodas, desserts (ice cream), but also sauces! Ketchup, barbecue, white vinaigrette, sweet and sour, mustard and honey…

So if you're having a salad, be reasonable on the dressing.

And finally, don't forget that all carbohydrates (ex: french fries, bread) turn into sugar in your body.

In practice, it is possible to order a hamburger where the bread is replaced by a leaf of lettuce. Think about it!

Tip N°4: Identify minimally processed foods

Your mission is to review the menu eliminating highly processed foods.

The most emblematic is the melted cheese found in cheeseburgers. Followed by bread and chicken nuggets (?). And finally, the sauces we have already talked about.

You are left with ground meat, whole pieces of chicken, eggs, salad and other raw vegetables (tomatoes, onions), pickles (pickles, etc.), and if necessary, bacon.

Tip N°5: the 3 drinks allowed

Finally, to make it easier for you, I have listed the 3 safe drinks at fast food:

  • The water
  • Coffee
  • Tea (but not iced tea which is sweetened in advance)

A light at the end of the tunnel?

When you put aside the bad reputation of junk food chains, and look at them objectively, you are forced to admit that they have improved over the years.
