Doctor Strange 2 Review: Will Feature More Surprises Than Endgame & No Way Home Combined
A new report claims that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will feature more surprises than ever before in the history of the MCU.
At this stage in the game, and in movies such as Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel fans are used to picking their jaws up off the floor following some crowd-pleasing surprise. Well, audiences' jaws could be feeling heavier than ever after seeing the upcoming MCU sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will reportedly feature more surprises than Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home combined.
Coming courtesy of a report from notable insider John Campea, director Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange sequel will rival any of the significant moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, with sources teasing the huge surprises to come.
"Yesterday, I got an email,” Campea says. “What I was basically told was this. I cannot say who this is from. But it [said], 'Yeah, they're not going to be screening Doctor Strange 2 during CinemaCon.' Sorry to tell everybody that, it's guaranteed that they are not going to show Doctor Strange 2 during CinemaCon.”
The sheer level of security surrounding Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been reported recently, and it sounds like Marvel Studios has good reason to keep things so secret. "In the email, they went on to say this, they said, 'There's more security [for this movie] blah blah blah.' But the key line was this: 'There are more big surprises in Doctor Strange 2 than in Infinity War, Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home combined.'"
The biggest surprises from the likes of Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home largely came from the crowd-pleasing cameos involved. Various different characters have been hotly rumored to make an appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and based on this latest revelation, a lot of them could indeed turn out to be true.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is Rumored to Feature Professor X, Mr. Fantastic, Deadpool & More
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will pick up with The Master of the Mystic Arts as he attempts to restore a world where everything is changing. Strange seeks help from his ally Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers' most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda. But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange.
Delving into the madness of the multiverse more than ever before, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will feature a whole host of variants of both Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange and Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff. There have since been reports that reshoots have taken place to add even more cameos and characters, with the sequel expected to include the likes of The Illuminati, which sees Professor Xavier, Mr. Fantastic, and Namor among its ranks, as well as Deadpool, an alternate Iron Man, and more. While a lot of these remain rumors, it sounds like audiences will be in for a treat when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6, 2022.
