Harry Potter Scene Emma Watson Was Too Embarrassed To Film

It's safe to say that Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley have always been endgame. Both Gryffindors are beloved characters in the realm of the fantasy genre and are always favorably shipped, despite their notable love/hate relationship throughout the "Harry Potter" series. However, one scene in particular in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" made Hermione's actress Emma Watson quite nervous about filming, not to mention that she was apparently mad at the film's director, Chris Columbus. , for forcing her to do it anyway.

There is a particular scene at the end of the second film where Hermione has to run into the Great Hall and hug both Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and Ron (Rupert Grint). However, the shy Watson, then 11, was too embarrassed to hug the two boys in front of the cast. Here's how the scene played out and what Columbus did instead of the young actress doing the scene as planned.

How the scene made sense for the future of Hermione and Ron's relationship

As explained by Seventeen, Chris Columbus attempted to work things out by having Emma Watson hug Radcliffe and shake Grint's hand. Watson was even embarrassed to hold Radcliffe for so long, so her hug had to have been frozen for a few seconds longer than it actually was to make it seem more realistic. The actress has since opened up about how stressful it was to film that scene with everyone on set watching. Of quickly hugging Radcliffe, Watson said (via Instagram) that her arms "barely touched around her neck."

The outcome of the scene actually ended up working out perfectly for Ron and Hermione's story, as fans of the "Harry Potter" books and movies are well aware of the underlying feelings both characters have for each other. He even ends up marrying the adorable and endearing redhead at the end of the magical series. If you're a true fan of Romione (via Screen Rant), you're aware of everything that possibly happened throughout their relationship.

As we all know, adapting books into movies is a big challenge, and things often get changed in the process. Despite some of the major changes that had to be made to fit within the constraints of filming the second "Harry Potter" movie, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" still stands today, and rewatching the Great Living room brings us so much joy.
