Johnny Depp against Amber Heard: their marriage counselor testifies
As Johnny Depp and Amber Heard face off in a defamation lawsuit, their marriage counselor has revealed the underside of their arguments and their mutual abuse.
While their divorce was formalized in 2016, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard continue to engage in a fierce fight. Since April 11, they have been attacking each other in a defamation lawsuit where chilling messages exchanged between the two ex-spouses have been revealed. In order to know the truth in this case, the judges called to the bar Laurel Anderson who officiated with the couple as a marriage counselor. During 21 sessions, the therapist was able to observe the destructive behavior of the couple and the numerous forms of violence they inflicted on each other. According to the newspaper "Daily Mail", she would have started her testimony by saying that the couple was "unable to dialogue".
“MUTUAL ABUSE”
Laurel Anderson explained that actress Amber Heard suffered from an uncontrollable fear of abandonment: "I know that she often led arguments and started them to keep him around because she was afraid of the abandonment. Being left was one of her worst nightmares. “She continues:” Ms. Heard explained that it was a question of pride concerning her, if she did not feel respected, to start an argument. Her father beat her when she was a child, she said she wasn't going to sit idly by.
The therapist summarizes: “If he wanted to leave her, she blamed him to keep him with her. She preferred to accumulate arguments than to see him leave. “When the court asks her if this behavior could have played a role in the acts of violence of Johnny Depp, she answers: “Yes (...) I think that he controlled himself for several decades and that the relationship induced by Madame Heard triggered what I see as mutual abuse.
“She remembers the violent episodes told by the couple:” He hits her open hand, she retaliates with her fist. The therapist claims that Amber Heard has already confessed to her having hit her husband after the latter, under the influence of drugs, made incoherent remarks about another woman. An addiction to drugs, but also to alcohol which Johnny Depp had great difficulty in curing. The actor had confided in a previous trial about his consumption explaining that he started “at a very young age”, affirming that alcohol and drugs were “the only means found to numb the pain”.
