The 39-year-old actress wore a tight-fitting dress to the bash, but nearly suffered a huge embarrassment after going to the toilet when the full-length zip snapped.
The star - who is married to businessman Ned Rocknroll - told
'I unzipped it from the bottom, sat down, had a wee - no problem - stood up, zipped it back up, and the zip came off in my hand.
'I was stood there, knowing everyone is pretty far away and I can't f***ing move. The dress opens all the way - the whole f***ing thing! I'm standing there in my knickers and heels, basically wearing a black cape!'
She also told the publication: 'All I could do was stand there, look at myself in the mirror and crack up laughing. I am never getting on the red carpet in a dress with a zip.'
The Titantic star - who has children Mia, 14, and Joe, 11, from previous marriages, and son Bear, 16 months, with Ned - said she's unlikely to wear a zip-up dress on a red carpet from now on.
The revelation comes as the actress told The Telegraph that she struggled to fit her pregnant chest into a corset when she filmed the movie, The Little Chaos, which is due out in cinemas this week.
She was expecting her youngest child, Bear, at the time of filming and said: 'There's nothing you can do about the boobs.
'There they are! And they just keep getting bigger, and you keep trying to squash them into... just into another place, because they don't even go down any more, you just try and find space under your armpits, anywhere. It really is hilarious.
'And the costumes have to keep being expanded. And I often had to just take things, literally, from extras because my own clothes wouldn't fit me any more.'
