Marissa Tomei disappointed in deleted scene in Spiderman: Homecoming
Actress Marissa Tomei plays the new Aunt May.
Actress Marissa Tomei plays a young and s-xy Aunt May in Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, the Oscar winner has expressed her disappointment in the elimination of a scene that she considered vital for the film.
In that shot, as described by the actress, who did not make it to the final edition of the film, Aunt May is seen with the young Spiderman.
In the scene something was happening in the neighborhood and there was a girl in danger. So I saved her from her. Peter would see me do that and he gets some of the ethics and morals of Spider-Man from his Aunt May… So we'd go home and my character wouldn't mention what happened to him. And, of course, he was silent and kept quiet about many things that he wanted to tell me. At the end he asks me: 'How was the day?', and I answer that he had been fine. But I really felt shaken by what had happened in the neighborhood. The situation was awkward, both for me and for him. And we're both living in that house together. I was really disappointed that they removed this scene.
Although the scene doesn't change anything in the movie, it does mean a lot to Marissa Tomei's character, because it shows a brave and heroic side of Aunt May that we haven't seen.
I was really disappointed that that scene wasn't in the movie. Peter took part of his ethics and morals from Aunt May thanks to that missing moment
Spiderman: Homecoming is a new beginning for the franchise. It stars the young actor Tom Holland.
