Melania Trump fury: Donald’s ‘anger’ over Trudeau kiss explained by body language expert
Melania Trump has recently gone viral for her greeting towards Justin Trudeau at the G7 summit.
The First Lady stood near the Canadian Prime Minister in a group photo at the event in Biarritz, France. While holding hands with Donald, Melania leans away to greet Trudeau with an air kiss. Body language expert, Patti Wood, believes the US President showed sign of “anger” during the greeting.
Ms Wood, author of Snap: Making the Most of First Impressions, Body Language, and Charisma, told InStyle: “If you look at how the chin is brought in, he’s looking down.
“Look at the lips, you’ll see that they’re closed and turning down at the ends.
“If you look all around the eyes you’ll see the tension on his brow as he looks down.
“The brow has what I call the 'wicked look.'
“The muffles over the eyes have that V, and so it ends up on the face as very angular, and that’s one of the signals of anger.”
Ms Wood claimed the moment made Trump “look down in petulance and anger”.
She added: “Melania’s making a decision to do what we are seeing. She’s making a decision to do a seductive kiss while holding hands with her husband, and that choice is affecting her husband.
“We don’t know whether it’s motivated to make him do that, but we can say she’s choosing to do that while holding his hand in this very public setting.”
However, body language expert Judi James debunked the claims.
Melania and Donald Trump are clearly loved up in their long marriage, and Ms James explained the images.
She revealed the hype over the photo is based purely on the camera angle.
Ms James told the Express.co.uk: “With her husband's hilarious over-pucker as he leant to cheek-kiss Angela Merkel, Melania showed the smooth way to approach the ritual with the very charming Trudeau, with the pair ending up looking like a Vogue ad while Trump stared grimly in the background.
“The trouble with air-kisses is that they do look dramatic when frozen for a photo.
“Melania was clearly just aiming for Trudeau's cheek for a pitch-perfect ritual and it's only the camera angle that makes it look like anything more romantic!”
Melania and Donald married in 2005 after dating for many years, and they have spoken about the harmony in their relationship before.
However Twitter went into meltdown over the image as ‘Melania loves Trudeau’ started trending.
One person wrote: “Looks like Melania in the photograph is infatuated with PM Trudeau and I can understand why.”
“Everyone needs to find someone who looks at you the way Melania looks at Trudeau,” another wrote.
One more said: “I think my husband might divorce me if I looked at another man the way Melania is looking at Trudeau.”
Speaking about her husband in 2016 on Fox News, Melania said of Donald: “We don’t have fights. We disagree, but that’s OK. That’s very good in the relationship.
“I’m with my own brain, he’s with his own brain...I tell him my way and he accepts that, and I tell him what I think and he’s the same. He thinks what he thinks.”
