Riverdale: What scene made Lili Reinhart feel uncomfortable? 'I really didn't want to'
Riverdale is filled with bizarre and unexpected moments and season 5 is expected to be no different. Actress Lili Reinhart though has now spoken out about which moment in the latest series she just didn't want to do.
Riverdale will return for season five where there will be a seven-year time jump. The Core Four is going to leave their Riverdale High days behind and will be seen as adults for the first time in the upcoming season. But the drama of their teen days is bound to catch up with them.
What scene made Lili Reinhart feel uncomfortable?
The main storyline which run throughout the majority of season four was Jughead Jones' (played by Cole Sprouse) death.
Fans were meant to believe Jughead had been killed with the blame initially being put on girlfriend Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart).
This turned out not to be the case and it was actually the Stonewall Prep students who tried to make it look like it was her.
Thankfully, Jughead didn't really die and instead faked his own death so he could figure out the prep students' motive for wanting him killed.
While the story made its climax during season four, this plot started at the end of series three.
When everything seemed quiet and happy at last after the gang took down The Farm, there was a flashfoward moment.
Here, Betty, Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) were all standing around a fire in the woods in their u-n-d-e-r-w-e-a-r.
They agreed to never speak of this moment again and threw Jughead's beanie hat into the flames.
In series four, Betty was once again seen sneaking into her house after coming back from the woods still in her u-n-d-e-r-w-e-a-r when she was confronted by mum Alice Cooper (Mädchen Amick).
These scenes where actress Reinhart had to be seen in her br@ and knickers were the ones which were the most difficult for her to do.
Opening up about the flash forward scene in particular, Reinhart told the Los Angeles Times: “I don’t have the CW girl body - tiny waist, nice-shaped legs, skinny, small, tiny. I had to do a br@ and u-n-d-e-r-w-e-a-r scene in this last season and I felt really insecure about it.
“I really, really didn’t want to do it. I didn’t tell anyone this. I wasn’t pressured into doing it. I did it because it was my job.
"But I felt bad about myself doing it. I really did. And this is where it gets complicated.”
But Reinhart explained how she also wanted to do it to give a positive body message to her fans.
Reinhart continued: “So even if I’m not feeling amazing about my body, I felt it was important for me to do the scene anyway in my br@ and u-n-d-e-r-w-e-a-r so people could see my body as it was.
“I did it for the people who feel like they need to look a certain way.
“You go on Instagram, and I’m like: ‘Oh, look, all these people with these beautifully toned bodies’ and then go to the beach - does anyone on the beach in the real world look like that?
"I don’t see anyone looking like this. Instagram and Victoria’s Secret runways are not a portrayal of how people look in real life."
Riverdale has returned to filming for season five with the ambition of airing the new episodes in January 2021.
The series will start off with the episodes which were meant to be the last ones in season four.
This will include the school prom and then after this, there will be a time jump where viewers are going to find out what they all got up to after leaving school.
Even if they have all moved on with their lives, a great threat to Riverdale could once again bring them back together.
