Sharon Stone recreates her famous crossed legs in 'Basic Instinct' and explains how the scene came about

The cinema gives us iconic scenes. Sally's orgasm in When Harry Met Sally…, a film that turned the New York diner Kat'z into a tourist attraction. But she is not the only one, in the film itself, from 1989, the end of a classic film, Casablanca, was remembered. And these are just two examples.

But when a screenwriter writes a scene or an actor interprets it, he never imagines that those seconds (or minutes) will become one of the images that millions of people will keep in their retinas, and that it will pass from generation to generation.

One of them is Sharon Stone's famous leg crossing in Basic Instinct. The actress got into the skin of a murderess in this 1992 film; an unscrupulous and very sexy woman who drove us all crazy. And Stone, who is now 61 years old, but who has not changed her aesthetic too much, decided to celebrate that the German edition of GQ had awarded her the Woman of the Year award with a recreation of that scene.

Stone arrived in Berlin in a shiny black trench coat with obvious shoulder pads, along with her 19-year-old son Roan Bronstein, who posed with her mother, proud of her. Once on stage, the actress opted for a black dress, similar to her coat and with a good neckline, with which she once again got into the skin of Catherine Tramell when she was questioned by several police officers. A scene that has been imitated ad infinitum, in which Stone wore a sleeveless white turtleneck dress, her hair in a ponytail, and heels.

During the ceremony, the actress recalled how the scene in question had come about. "A few years ago, I was sitting on the set and my director said, 'Can you hand me your panties, because they show on the scene and you shouldn't be wearing them, but [don't worry] we won't see anything,'" Stone recalled. "I told him of course, but I didn't know that moment was going to change my life," Stone settled before making history again.
