Sparks fly between Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen as first I Saw The Light trailer sees them share bedroom scene

It's where they are thought to have sparked their blossoming real life romance.

And the first trailer for I Saw The Light, in which the pair play husband and wife, gave fans a first glimpse of the undeniable chemistry between actors Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen.

Though they've never confirmed their relationship, the American beauty, 26, and English actor, 34, are thought to have been an item since filming began for the country singer Hank Williams' biopic.

Tom plays famous folk singer Hank, who was married to Elizabeth's character Audrey Mae Williams and fathered their son Randall, later Hank Williams, Jr.

Sparks fly as the actors are captured in an  clinch in the movie's trailer and recreated home video tells their love story as they welcome their first child.

Though their friendship dates back as far as 2011, it's widely thought that filming the biopic was behind the romance between Tom and Elizabeth - and it's easy to see from the teaser just why they hit it off.

The pair were pictured together this summer on numerous occasions, though Elizabeth categorically denied romance rumours in September.

Speaking to Refinery29, Elizabeth said: 'I mean, we definitely are friends and we've known each other for about four years. We happened to be at a restaurant at a wrong time having dinner. We all go out to dinner.’

Quizzed on how she felt about the romance rumours, she said, 'Well, apparently, I'm dating Chris Evans, and apparently, I've dated Jeremy Renner… I don't react to it.'

It followed reports by Us Weekly that the pair had been 'casually' hooking up since May and texting when they were not on set.

Asked directly whether she was dating Tom, Elizabeth finally concluded: 'No. I mean people can think what they want to think.'

The movie trailer follows Hank and Audrey's early relationship but also the breakdown of their marriage as she accuses him of infidelity during his rise to fame.

Singer-songwriter Hank was widely regarded as one of the pivotal country music artists of his generation.

He rose to fame shortly after Audrey took over as his manager and he later signed with MGM Records.

His career, while centered heavily on his 11 No1 Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers, was also heavily characterised by an addiction to alcohol and dependence on painkillers.

Highlighted in the movie's trailer, these appear to be some of the causes of his fractious relationship with Audrey.
