After making a beeline for Ralph's store with a pal, the 27-year-old accidentally exposed her derrière thanks to her thigh-skimming playsuit.
Vanessa, who rose to fame in High School Musical, had been turning heads prior to her mishap thanks to her endless pins.
Wearing her tresses down in a loose wave, the US beauty otherwise cut a chic figure in the red and white all-in-one.
Vanessa teamed her patterned number with tan ankle boots and a snakeskin satchel before dashing around with a full trolley.
The star's outing comes just days after she reignited rumours that she was set to make a cameo appearance in HSM 4.
"A little #TBT for all the HSM fans," Vanessa tweeted, while sharing a throwback snap of herself alongside her fellow stars.
It was speculated that the star and her on-screen love interest Zac Efron could possibly be reuniting, but Disney has remained tight-lipped.
Although, the actor, 28, has recently been busy surprising Olympic gymnast Simone Biles in Rio 2016 instead.
