Amber Heard had 'jealousy issues' over Johnny Depp's fame and interactions with women
Notes from a nurse who worked with Amber Heard, and which were shown as part of a defamation trial between Amber and Johnny Depp, revealed that the actress had a history of 'substance abuse', and also that she had "jealousy issues and anxiety" around Johnny's fame and his "ability to interact with females often".
Amber Heard had "jealousy issues and anxiety" around ex-husband Johnny Depp's fame and his interactions with women, a court heard, as the multi-million dollar US trial between the two carried on.
Nurse Erin Falati who worked with both Amber, 36, and Johnny, 58, made the claim in notes presented to the Virginia courtroom today, which also detailed Amber's "substance abuse".
Ms Falati's pre-recorded questioning by Johnny's legal team was shown on the final day of them presenting evidence.
Notes belonging to the nurse, who met the Aquaman actress in 2014, and were made while she was working, were shown on screen.
The notes say that the actress told the nurse about a prior history of "substance abuse including an addiction to cocaine and liquor" but that she had abstained from cocaine for a "couple of years".
When they met, Heard reported drinking one to three glasses of red wine each day, the notes read.
"Client admits to history of anxiety, eating disorder, attention defecit disorder, bipolar disorder, codependence issues and occasional insomnia," the notes also say.
The notes also spoke about Amber's feelings towards Johnny, referencing her feelings of "insecurity and jealousy" when not with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.
The nurse said this wasn't a constant theme, but did come up at moments while she was treating Amber.
In September 2014, Ms Falati wrote that The Rum Diary performer reported "difficulty with jealousy issues and anxiety around fiance's fame and ability to interact with females often".
She told the court that she couldn't remembers specifics around this, but she does remember it coming up in general.
The nurse was also questioned about a visit she made to the actress in 2015.
The notes said she delivered medication to Amber, who appeared "dishevelled" and "weepy and sad."
She had "visible bright red blood appearing at centre of lower lip", the notes say.
Amber told the nurse this was the result of an "altercation" with Depp, the notes say.
Johnny has denied all allegations that he has ever assaulted Amber.
Records made in May 2016, after Amber and her friends went to the Coachella Festival, reported Amber telling the nurse she "ingested mushrooms and MDMA simultaneously while also consuming alcohol, and states she vomited and was 'high for at least 24 hours straight'."
The actress was then reminded that using illicit drugs would not be tolerated by medical staff, and they could cause side-affects with her prescribed medication.
"Client laughed and also reported using illicit drugs" on another occasion "at home with a high-profile male aquaintance", the notes read.
"Client reported that her husband was not aware of the male visitor, nor her illicit drug use," the notes also said.
The nurse also said she didn't witness violence from Johnny towards Amber, or vice versa, when asked.
Johnny is suing Amber for defamation over a 2018 article she wrote in The Washington Post, which his lawyers say falsely implies he physically and sexually abused her.
He is suing Amber for more than £38 million, saying her domestic abuse claims have harmed his career and reputation.
He claims the 2018 article caused him to be dropped from the successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
Amber has filed a countersuit against Johnny, seeking almost £78 million in damages and saying his legal team falsely accused her of fabricating claims against the actor.
Heard’s counterclaim accuses Depp of orchestrating a "smear campaign" against her and describing his lawsuit as a continuation of "abuse and harassment."
