Does Melania Trump really live in Mar-a-Lago?
Since leaving the White House last January, Melania Trump has kept a low profile. So much so that some wonder if the former First Lady has truly taken up residence in Mar-a-Lago alongside her husband.
On January 20, Melania Trump, all smiles, left the White House for Mar-a-Lago, Florida. A long-awaited departure by the former First Lady who never really managed to get used to life in Washington. Since then, however, the mother of Barron Trump cultivates discretion. So much so that some wonder if the former model has really settled in the luxurious residence of the outgoing president.
If the former presidential couple was indeed seen this Saturday, March 27 at Mar-a-Lago on the occasion of the wedding of John and Megan Arrigo, Melania Trump would however be looking for a house on Jupiter Island, in Florida, and Palm Beach, insiders revealed to the New York Times last January. It must be said that the Florida dream of the Trumps quickly turned into a nightmare.
Melania and Donald Trump, a life of pariahs at Mar-a-Lago
While they thought they would find some peace of mind under the Florida sun, Melania and Donald Trump were quickly disillusioned. Despite hastily launched work to enlarge their apartments, their living space remains to this day too small for their taste. But that's not all ! The reception was icy in the club they had become accustomed to frequenting, revealed The Cut a few days after their installation. "A lot of people quietly left the club," Laurence Leamer, author of Mar-a-Lago: Inside the Gates of Power at Donald Trump's Presidential Palace, told MSNBC. And the journalist clarified that Melania and Donald Trump have become pariahs at Mar-a-Lago: "They (the neighbors, editor's note) want nothing to do with them". A hard blow for the former First Lady who, aware of not being welcome, preferred to set up her offices in Palm Beach… With a view to an upcoming move?
