Melania Trump: What does First Lady do all day? Private White House routine revealed

Melania Trump is the First Lady of the US, currently residing at the White House and attending a host of public events. But what does the former model and mother-of-one do every day, and what is her daily routine?

Melania Trump is one of the most watched women in the world, being First Lady of the US and wife of Donald Trump.

The 48-year-old leads a busy life, attending public events, being by her husband’s side and flying around the country to support the causes close to her heart.

She is also a mother-of-one and tries to keep her life as private as she can when not out at public or official events.

But what about when she isn’t making a public appearance, what does Melania do all day and what is her schedule like?

It has been reported that Melania sleeps in a different bedroom to her husband Donald Trump, arising a little earlier than the president’s 5:30am wake up.

According to two close friends speaking to the Washington Post, Melania then gets her 12-year-old son Barron ready for school.

Melania Trump calls herself a “full-time mom” and tries to involve herself as much as she can in Barron’s life, Business Insider has previously revealed.

Melania considers her first job as raising Barron and along with getting him up and ready for school, she also helps him with homework and has made his breakfast and lunch.

When Melania lived in New York, it is known that Melania she would drop him off and pick him up from school, along with attending his school events, showing how involved she is in her son’s life.

The First Lady has also revealed a lot about her daily routine on her Twitter page, often tweeting about her day before becoming First Lady.

On her Twitter account, Melania used to share regular updates of her breakfasts, which included platters of fruit and healthy green smoothies, which she coined her “everyday breakfast”.

Talking to GQ the First Lady also revealed she aims to eat seven pieces of fruit a day.

Showing she also indulges in treat days, Melania has also posted photos to Twitter of stacks of pastries and sweet treats for breakfast.

Another thing the First Lady has shared on social media is her morning workout.

Melania revealed that she does a light workout every day and uses little tricks such as walking around the house wearing ankle weights.

When not caring for Barron, or playing tennis or pilates, Melania performs her duties as First Lady, which include planning and hosting events at the White House.

The former model also spends her time championing her “Be Best” initiative, a public awareness campaign focused on the well-being of youths and combatting cyberbullying.

While she prefers to remain private, Melania did make headlines last week when she hit out at an anonymous New York Times source who criticised her husband.

The former-model from Slovenia criticised the writer, who kept their identity secret.

Melania slammed the “cowardly actions” of the writer who claimed there is “resistance” against Trump in the White House. The Washington Post reported that the First Lady released the scathing statement.

Languages

Mum-of-one Melania can speak more languages than any other First Lady before her: English, French, German, Italian, Serbian and of course her mother tongue, Slovenian.

This also makes her the only First Lady whose first language is not English.

Religion

After Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania is the second First Lady who is a practising Catholic.

She met Pope Francis as part of a foreign tour with her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka last year.

Career

Melania was a successful model, posing for Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ.

Her skills aren’t confined to print, and she appeared in a commercial for Aflac, an American insurance company, in 2005.

Family

Melania’s parents are Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, and the couple live together in Washington.

She has one sister, Ines, who is reported to live in New York and work as an artist.
