The romantic wedding of Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky

Bill and Hillary Clinton's daughter has said 'I do' to her boyfriend in a fairy tale ceremony

Bill and Hillary Clinton were excited witnesses yesterday at the wedding of their only daughter, Chelsea. At 30, the 'princess' of the former President of the United States said 'yes, I do' to her longtime boyfriend, Marc Mezvinsky, 32, a classmate of hers at Stanford University and to whom she has been romantically linked for five years .

Marc is the son of Ed Mezvinsky, a former congressman from Iowa, and Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinksy, a former congressman from Pennsylvania, two staunch Democrats who have known their in-laws, Bill and Hillary Clinton, for years.

Chelsea's husband is of Jewish origin and can boast, at 31 years of age, of generating many millions of dollars with his work at the investment bank Goldman Sachs. For her part, the only daughter of the Clinton couple, two years younger, currently works for the Avenue Capital group.

The link took place at the Astor Mansion, which is located on a small hill in Rhinebeck, a tiny town in the state of New York. An idyllic setting for a fairy tale ceremony, where security was guaranteed and attended by numerous personalities from the world of politics, communication and cinema.

Dressed in a model by designer Vera Wang, Chelsea Clinton walked down the aisle arm in arm with her father and godfather. Without being able to hide her joy, her mother lived the moment very closely. Hillary was spectacular in a raspberry design by Óscar de la Renta.

Once the ceremony was over, the happy parents of the bride declared, according to People magazine: "Today, we have seen with great pride and overflowing emotion how Chelsea and Marc married in a beautiful ceremony at the Astor Mansion, surrounded by the family and closest friends.

We couldn't have wished for a more perfect day to celebrate the start of their life together and we are so happy to welcome Marc to our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we would like to especially thank the town of Rhinebeck for hosting us and everyone for their well wishes on this very special day.

After months of speculation with the list of guests at the link, there were finally around 400 attendees. The former US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, actor Ted Danson, film producer Steven Bing, and a large group of congressmen and prominent members of the Democratic Party were present. The wedding was officiated by the rite of mixed religion since the bride is Methodist and the groom is Jewish. It was officiated by Rabbi James Ponet and Rev. William Shillady.
