THEY CHEATED HER! Sharon Stone spoke about "the scene" from 'Basic Instinct'
The 1992 erotic thriller "Basic Instinct" made Sharon Stone a star, but she almost crushed her spirit in the process.
In an excerpt from the 63-year-old iconic actress's upcoming memoir, "The Beauty of Living Twice," Sharon Stone opened up about her crotch-taking scene in the film, in which she had been led to believe she was much less revealing than it really was.
“After filming 'Low Instinct,' they called me to see it. Not just with the director, unsurprisingly, given the situation that has given us all pause, so to speak, but with a room full of agents and lawyers, most of whom had nothing to do with the project” , reads the excerpt, published in Vanity Fair.
“That's how I saw my 'vagina-shot' for the first time, long after they told me, 'We can't see anything, I just need you to take your panties off, as white reflects light, so I know you have the under-wear on'”.
While Stone relents, there are "many points of view on this subject", stating that as "the one with the vagina", hers is the only one that matters and "the other points of view are dumb".
"Basic Instinct" director Paul Verhoeven has previously said that Stone is "lying" and claimed that he was fully aware of what the shot of her would look like.
"Sharon is lying," Verhoeven, 82, told ICON in 2017.
"Any actress knows what she's going to see if you ask her to take off her under-wear and point the camera there."
And finally, after consulting with her attorney, Stone decided to allow the scene in the film.
"Why? Because it was right for the movie and the character, and because I did it after all," she wrote.
"Basic Instinct" was not the only harrowing situation she had to endure in her film career. For another film, Stone claimed that a producer tried to convince her to "get intim@te with my co-star so we could have chemistry on screen."
Standing up for herself in such situations gave her a "difficult" reputation.
"A lot of people ask me what she was like in my superstar days," she continues. "It was like this. She play ball or get off the field, girl."
The "Sliver" and "The Quick and the Dead" star recounts how she "had a producer take me into his office, where he had balls of malted milk in a little cardboard-type container milk under the arm with its beak open". she writes. "She was pacing back and forth in her office with balls falling from the beak and rolling all over the hardwood floor as she explained to me why she should f**k my co-star so we could have chemistry on screen."
The Oscar nominee for "Casino" goes on to reveal how the Hollywood leader claimed that she "made love to Ava Gardner on screen and it was so sensational." Now just the creepy thought of him in the same room with Ava Gardner got me thinking."
The actress also details how the producer in question really insisted on casting this actor, even “when she couldn't get a full scene out in the audition. . . Now do you think if I f**k him, he'll become a good actor? Nobody is that good in bed. I felt like they could have cast a talented co-star, someone who could deliver a scene and remember lines from him. I also felt that they could f**k him themselves and leave me out. It was my job to act and I said so."
