Wife of Trump's eldest son files for divorce
Vanessa Haydon Trump filed a civil lawsuit against her husband in Manhattan Supreme Court after 12 years of marriage.
Vanessa Trump and Donald Trump Jr., eldest son of the US president, announced their divorce on Thursday.
"After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to follow different paths," the two said in a joint statement released by the Trump Organization, in response to a request for confirmation of their divorce.
"We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our absolute priority," they added.
The couple, who requested privacy, married in November 2005, two years after being introduced by real estate mogul and current White House occupant Donald Trump at a fashion show.
