Amanda Seyfried Reveals the Awkward Moments She Had After Success on ‘Mean Girls’
Mean Girls’ is a film that has crossed generational gaps, released in 2004 and starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried, It has been the subject of memes, TikTok audios, and hundreds of parodies.
But behind the runaway success of the film, one of his favorite stars in the public, Amanda, who plays Karen Smith, suffered negative consequences of early fame specifically for a particular scene, near the end of the movie, where she comes out predicting the weather using her br3asts, only to know the forecast she has to touch them.
According to the actress who was 18 years old at the time, once ‘Mean Girls’ catapulted her to world fame, she had to endure abusive comments from many men who asked her on the street what the weather forecast was, waiting that could touch her breasts. “I always felt really grossed out by it,” she revealed to Marie Claire.
But this kind of s-xual harassment wasn’t the only thing Seyfried had to deal with after playing the cute, blonde, goofy girl on ‘Mean Girls.’ “Being typecast was what you had to fight against. In 2004, she had to be very careful not to be just ‘the pretty blonde’. So at the beginning of my career, if I hadn’t done ‘Big Love,’ I would have been Karen Smith. All the auditions I had for my first pilot season were as blonde friends. I wasn’t going to be the lead, because for some reason I didn’t fit into that. Fortunately, I had opportunities that changed pretty quickly,” the 36-year-old star said.
As she commented, fortunately she was able to extricate herself from her role, which would have been difficult for her and currently she has shone with her own light in different films such as ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Jennifer’s Boyd’, ‘Dead John’ and ‘Les Misérables’, to mention a few.
