'Fifty Shades', the adaptation of the erotic novel by British author E. L. James, became one of the highest-grossing film sagas of the previous decade. The films starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan managed to conquer millions of viewers around the world with a story that continues more alive than ever thanks to the love of all their fans. That is why each new detail or information continues to give a lot to talk about. This is the case of the last interview granted by her protagonist to 'Vanity Fair'.

In the report of the aforementioned medium, Dakota Johnson speaks for the first time of one of the topics that she has given the most to talk about since the premiere of the first installment: her alleged bad relationship with her cast partner. And it is that there were many international media that pointed to strong disagreements between the protagonists of 'Fifty shades' during the long days of filming. However, the actress flatly denies this and clarifies what her relationship with Jamie Dornan was. "There was never a time when we didn't get along," she begins by saying. "I know it's weird, but he's like a brother to me," she adds.

“I love him so so so so much. And we really were there for each other. We had to trust each other completely and protect ourselves”, she says regarding the great professional moment they lived together and that triggered a true fan phenomenon worldwide. “We were doing the weirdest things for years, and we had to be a team. 'We're not going to do that' or 'You can't shoot that angle,'" she continues, reminiscing about those very important years in their respective professional careers. “Look, it was great for our runs. It was incredible. One luck. But it was weird. Very, very rare,” she states.

Change of directors

Throughout the different installments of 'Fifty Shades' there were several changes in terms of the technical team. A fact that affected Dakota Johnson's way of working, as she explains in her interview for 'Vanity Fair'. “Sam Taylor-Johnson didn't return to directing after the first film, and as a woman she had brought a softer perspective.

Then James Foley came along, and he's an interesting man. It was different doing bizarre things with a man behind the camera. Just a different energy. There are things I can't say yet because I don't want to damage anyone's career or tarnish anyone's reputation, but both myself and Jamie were treated very well,” she concludes.
