Danny Bonaduce, Former Child Star Arrested For Beating Up Prostitute

Danny Bonaduce, one of the child stars of the popular 1970s TV show ″The Partridge Family,″ has been arrested for investigation of beating and robbing a transvestite prostitute, police said.

Bonaduce, 31, disputed the account, but declined to elaborate.

Police arrested Bonaduce early Sunday after officers found him hiding in a closet in his downtown Phoenix apartment, said Sgt. Kevin Robinson, a police spokesman. He said Bonaduce’s wife let officers in the apartment.

The former child star was booked for investigation of felony flight, aggravated assault and strong-arm robbery, Robinson said. He was released on $8,400 bond.

According to police, Bonaduce met the 24-year-old prostitute at an intersection near his home and the man got into his car. Nearby residents called police after hearing screams.

Authorities said the victim suffered a broken nose and a cut to his face.

Robinson said an officer who arrived on the scene saw Bonaduce driving away and he and other officers followed him home.

Bonaduce, who played the wisecracking Danny Partridge on TV, is now a disc jockey at radio station KKFR in Phoenix.

In March 1990, he pleaded no contest in Daytona Beach, Fla., to charges of attempting to buy cocaine. He was sentenced to 15 months’ probation and community service.
