Does Jennifer Aniston wear in The Morning Show season 2

Jennifer Aniston chose herself some timepiece candy on Apple TV's hit show. And it's all Chopard. Happenstance ? Well, not exactly

Ever watched The Morning Show, that Apple TV series about TV, news, cancel culture and the consequences of misconduct in the workplace ? Well, as a watch amateur, you might see something you like there. For instance, Alex Levy, anchor of the eponymous broadcast program, wears badass watches. The character played by Jennifer Aniston sports a Chopard L.U.C Quattro Regulateur throughout season 1. Yes, that sophisticated, handsome, underrated, unusual watch meant for men with serious watchmaking acumen. And by the way, she rocks it.

Then at some point, although briefly, she goes for the sleek, chic, slim rose gold L.U.C XPS.

Later in season 1 and in season 2, she trades it for something resembling the kind of watch a very successful American would wear : an all-rose-gold Alpine Eagle. Yes, yet another Chopard.

So what's the deal here. And is there one ? According to Chopard, there isn't. It appears that the show's stylists, Nina and Clare Hallworth, managed to get these pieces on loan, after Jennifer Aniston selected them. This is not an official endorsement, nor the beginning of an ambassadorship deal the likes of which Chopard has been striking with celebrities over 40 lately (I'm looking at you, Julia Roberts). One thing's for sure : these timepieces were chosen because they project an aura of power onto their wearer.

The strangest thing though is this : Jennifer Aniston is the only person consistently wearing a distinguishable timepiece on that show about a show. Charlie Black (Mark Duplass) sometimes sports a very cheap Swiss Military quartz watch, that seems hardly compatible with the means of an associate producer on network TV.

Another couple of very brief, almost stealthy encounters with a decent watch happen during season one when big honcho Cory Ellison (Billy Crudup) is caught with a two-tone Ballon Bleu. But get this : it's a small size, most likely a 33 mm, and it's on so loose a bracelet it really makes no sense at all. A network CEO can wear whatever he likes, even a piece that's light years beneath his 8-figure salary. But wearing it like that is just not done.

What about Bradley Jackson? Well, the character played by Reese Witherspoon, the other lead in the show, is systematically wrist-naked as soon as she leaves her local news dead-end job and joins the big league NYC studio. So the watches of The Morning Show are in fact the watches of Alex Levy. Period.
