Emma Stone's Super-Awkward Hug at the Golden Globes Is All of Us
Emma Stone definitely won big on Sunday night (January 8). Not only did the actress score the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture—Comedy or Musical, but she also might have earned the Internet's award for most cringeworthy moment of the night.
The actress warmed all of our hearts with her moving acceptance speech about believing in yourself and creativity and hope, but not before proving she is just as awkward as we are. After La La Land director Damien Chazelle snagged the win for Best Original Screenplay, Stone went in to congratulate him by offering a hug—but Chazelle was already leaning in to kiss his girlfriend. Cue the threesome of your nightmares, one you were most definitely not invited to.

Emma quickly realized how weird the moment was and backed away. You can even see her say, "That was weird—I'm sorry," as MTV noticed. Meanwhile, Chazelle's face said it all.
Even Ryan Gosling caught the embarrassing moment and proceeded to laugh at his costar.
Luckily, Emma Stone should know she was not alone. There were plenty of other terrible (along with the great) moments that filled up the evening.
But this is just more proof no one should ever hug, especially when cameras are around. Watch the moment, below, and send your condolences Emma's way.
