Jenna Fischer knew John Krasinski was perfect for her — on screen
Jenna Fischer says that she and her “Office” co-star, John Krasinski, were a match made in TV heaven.
“I remember the day we met,” Fischer, 43, writes in her new, “The Actor’s Life: A Survival Guide” (via People). “As he passed by, he introduced himself, and we shook hands. It was if lightning struck through the center of the room,” she recalled of her audition for the part that she ended up playing from 2005 to 2013.
“‘You’re my favorite Pam. I hope you get this job,’” Krasinski, now 38, said to her.
Two seasons into the cult-favorite comedy, also starring Steve Carell, workplace flirtations led to the TV couple’s first kiss, which was Fischer’s first kiss in front of the camera.
In what she describes as being “transported into a new reality,” she detailed the scene as her character: “Suddenly, Jim walked in the door. I turned and saw him and my heart felt like it might burst out of my chest. I wanted so much to tell him how I felt, but before I could, he kissed me. It was perfect.”
Off-screen, the two faced rumors of a real-life romance, however to the disappointment of Dunder Mifflin loyalists, Krasinski married actress Emily Blunt in 2010 and Fischer married Lee Kirk, also in 2010, after having been married to James Gunn from 2000 to 2008.
