Keanu Reeves' stunt double confirms he's the nicest actor in Hollywood

It's almost commonplace to say that Keanu Reeves is (or at least seems) a nice guy in real life. We've all seen the 55-year-old Canadian enduring the heaviness of fans, giving up his seat to ladies on New York public transportation, or in some other public display of good manners. But could it all be a mere staging?

Jeremy Fry, Reeves' stunt double who worked side by side with him in the three films of the John Wick saga, does not think so. And it is that, as Fry reveals to Metro, the Matrix actor is even more adorable than he seems.

“He is generous, he is selfless, he works tirelessly. Everything good that you have heard about him is 110% true, ”says Fry.

"One time he said to me, 'Hey, do you want to go to Laguna Seca?', and when Keanu Reeves asks if you want to go anywhere, you say yes."

"It turns out that he had rented Laguna Seca, a very popular race track in California, and had reserved it for private use for two days, for about eighty of his friends and acquaintances."

“There were people from various industries there, a very diverse selection of people. He put us up in local hotels, found catering for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was a very special moment for me for many reasons.”

In addition, Fry also has praise for Reeves when it comes to his willingness to do his own stunts … without underestimating the profession of the stuntman.

“There was a shot where we wanted Keanu to slide over the camera and we wanted the camera to go right on top of him. And we worked with him for a while, it was tricky but he nailed it. He did a terrific job.”

"It's always interesting to me when actors want to do their own stunts... having other people they can employ to do it that you won't recognize on screen."

“But Keanu understands perfectly. He has never said, “I want to do that. I want to do it". He trusts coordinator Darrin Prescott and director Chad Stahelski to make the best decision possible, and he knows they will hire him when they see fit and safe,” concludes Fry.

Reeves has several premieres pending in various franchises: first, next August we should be able to see Bill & Ted Face the Music, the third film in the saga that he co-stars with Alex Winter since 1989. But the main course is scheduled for May 2022, when the fourth installments of the popular John Wick and Matrix sagas will be released.
