'It was so awkward': Lea Seydoux says her steamy scene with 007 heartthrob Daniel Craig in Spectre was uncomfortable

She might have enjoyed working with Daniel Craig but Spectre star Lea Seydoux has said that filming steamy scenes with the James Bond star was 'awkward'.

The 30-year-old actress who plays psychologist Dr Madeleine Swann in the new Bond film, conceded that she always finds romantic scenes embarrassing.

Speaking to The Sun Lea explained: 'It's OK. I mean, it was fun after. It’s always awkward, you know. It's surreal.'

The French actress also revealed that she and Daniel have worked together in the past.

She said: 'We both did some screen tests a few years ago for 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'.

'I think I kissed him, but I don't remember. It was so awkward and I was so frightened.'

Spectre's is Lea's first appearance as a Bond girl and she admits she doesn't into the typical mould.

She said: ' I don't mind the cliché of the Bond girl. But Madeleine, she is very different. And to choose me as a Bond girl, it's a choice. A statement. I'm not the typical James Bond girl.'

French star Lea has previously starred in Inglourious Basterds, Midnight in Paris, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

The actress also appeared in Blue Is The Warmest Colour for which she was awarded Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

Monica Bellucci and Naomie Harris also star alongside Lea in the new Bond film.

At the press conference for the film last week, held at the Corinthia Hotel in London, Monica opened up about the ageing process and going through the menopause.

The 51-year-old actress is the oldest Bond girl to date and Monica revealed that she's not fazed by going through the process.

She said: 'menopause is a natural thing, it is not a sickness.'

‘OK, the body at the beginning will get a bit mad. But after a few months, or one year, it’s going to be OK. This is a natural process of life. I am not nervous about it at all.’

She’s already decided to take ‘natural remedies’ (bioidentical hormones, derived from plants, which are said to mimic natural hormones more closely) rather than HRT.

Spectre is released in the UK on 26 October 2015 followed by a US release on 6 November.
