Leggy Nicole Kidman narrowly avoids wardrobe malfunction in slashed gown at Lion premiere
Nicole Kidman came dangerously close to flashing a lot more than she had hoped as she strutted along the red carpet in London last night.
The Oscar winner struggled to keep her gothic gown in place as she promoted her new movie Lion at the 60th BFI Film Festival.
Wearing her tresses up in a chic 'do, the 49-year-old highlighted never-ending pins in the daring number, complete with open detailing on the chest.
Nicole's black outfit included a risqué split at the front, that was slashed all the way to the tops of her thigh.
The mother-of-four seemed more distracted by keeping her dress closed than posing with her co-star Dev Patel, who looked dapper in a three-piece navy suit.
As well as the billowing, velvet frock, Nicole also chose a sparkly pair of lace-up heels and an all important slick of deep red lipstick.
The Australian beauty's latest big screen offering sees her play the adoptive mother of a young boy from India.
Lion tells the true story of Saroo Brierley, a little boy from a rural township who fell asleep on a train carriage and was trapped on board when it departed, taking him hundreds of miles from home.
Speaking about the film, Nicole commented: "My maternal instincts are very strong. I'm raising two little girls right now and I have two adult children, but Keith always says, 'You're so maternal', which I take as a compliment.
"I will be sad when there is not a five-year-old in the house."
