Natalie Portman ‘Disgusted’ by Anti-Semitic John Galliano Video

"As an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way," says the Oscar winner of the disgraced designer.

Oscar winner Natalie Portman, who has an endorsement arrangement with Dior, has condemned Dior chief designer John Galliano who was suspended last week for making anti-semitic and racial remarks towards a couple at a Paris café and now is in the process of being fired.

On Monday, The Sun posted a cell phone video featuring Galliano declaring “I love Hitler,” and on Tuesday, Dior said it has started the process of firing Galliano without providing a time frame for the process.

Portman has an endorsement contract with Dior for its Miss Dior Cherie fragrance.

“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments,” Portman said, according to the New York Times, in a statement before news of Galliano’s firing. “In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”
