Marilyn Monroe's life continues to seduce us despite the fact that almost 55 years have passed since her death. This week the English newspaper Daily Mail published a series of photographs in which the platinum-plated actress was supposedly pregnant.

The series of six images belonged to a good friend and confidante of Marilyn, Frieda Hull. According to the British newspaper, she called these photos the “pregnant slides”, a story that Frieda would have related to Tony Michael, who auctioned the series in November of the year for just $2,240 when the importance of the postcards was unknown.

The photographs were taken on July 8, 1960, in New York outside Fox Studios, after Monroe finished fittings for clothes and hair for the film The Misfits, starring Clark Gable and Montgomery Clift.

The images clearly show a prominent bulge on the curvaceous star's belly, which Hull would have claimed was evidence that she was in the early stages of pregnancy.

The outlet spoke to Michaels, the man who bought the color slides at the Marilyn Memorabilia Auction, held at Julien's Auctions in Los Angeles. And not only did she assure that Marilyn's best friend revealed to her the pregnancy of the protagonist of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, but also that the father was not the husband of the actress, the playwright Arthur Miller, but the 'Talo-French actor Yves Montand, whom she met on the set of the movie Let's Make Love and with whom she had a very public affair.

And she added that, in an extraordinary and tragic Hollywood tale, Ella Monroe kept her pregnancy a secret before "losing" the baby during a hospital visit.

Tony told Daily Mail: “Frieda was very proud of those slides and she was very proud to keep them a secret until the day she died. But she told me the story behind them, that Marilyn got pregnant by Yves Montand. It wasn't a conjecture or an assumption, it was something she knew for sure; she was very close to Marilyn. She explained to me that Marilyn became pregnant in the summer of 1960, and the slides prove it."

Monroe had wanted a baby more than anything in the world, but that joy was denied her. The Una Eva y dos Adanes actress suffered from a condition called endometriosis, which caused severe menstrual pain and miscarriages. She had already had three before losing this baby.
