Rihanna picks up her CFDA Fashion Icon Award in a see-through dress
It seems that Rihanna takes the lyrics of her own songs very seriously. The Diamonds interpreter – who begins with the phrase “Shine bright like a diamond” – chose a sheer, custom-made Adam Selman dress, with a nud3 fishnet and covered with 216,000 Swarovski crystals, to pick up her Fashion Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
The dress, which left very little to the imagination, caused a great impact on the red carpet of the event for showing all the charms of the Barbadian, who had the delicacy of wearing a nud3-colored thong under her transparencies, but no bra.
With a halter neck and a bar3 back, Selman's model also allowed us to appreciate her multiple tattoos, such as the cross that she wears on her right forearm or the Egyptian goddess Isis with wings spread under her breasts.
Considered a woman who likes to take risks with fashion, Rihanna also wore matching gloves and turban, a pink fur stole and gold sandals. To complete her brilliant look, she opted for smokey eye makeup and discreet lips that highlighted her face.
The Fashion Icon Award is given to people whose style has made a profound impact on popular culture internationally—Lady Gaga, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman have all received it before. Although the striking dress can generate opinions of all tastes, the truth is that Rihanna caused a sensation.
